Most people understand that weight gain has spiraled out of control in the world.

Most people understand that the female body is constantly under going changes, from birth until death. This is directly related to the child bearing years and the fact that hormones are made then removed over the course of several years.

These changes are known to bring about severe health problems and the chance of contracting certain health problems is intensified with the woman being obese. It has been recently noted that a strong link between obesity and breast cancer exists.

The studies indicate that obesity could be the leading cause of breast cancer among women, and also lead to the failure on the part of treatment options which are limited in those that carry extra weight.

This link starts with a person that is carrying fifteen percent extra body fat, and continues to the twenty percent level where it is increased. This is coupled with the fact that women who are over weight go undiagnosed for longer periods of time.

The reason behind this is the fact that cancer tumors in the breast are difficult to see when the person is obese.

The breasts are made up of mostly fatty tissue, and when a person has an increased body mass, the fat cells increase and many times will hide the cancer from view. That means that the cancer can progress without being treated, which causes serious issues for treatment options.

Further progression of the cancer will invariably tie the doctors hands and call for aggressive and potentially dangerous treatments that could result in death.

The doctors have concluded that the lack of hormone product during menopause is also a common bond for breast cancer. This is personified when it comes to people who are obese. Hormones are no longer produced when the woman reaches menopause and therefore they are treated with hormone replacement therapies.

These therapies increase the ingestion of estrogen, which studies have indicated might increase the risk of breast cancer in obese postmenopausal women. Doctors are now urging women who have reached menopause to lose or maintain a healthy weight.

This normally means taking part in healthy eating habits as well as exercise and plenty of rest.
